Assembly talk @ Bowen Secondary (16 & 17 Oct)

Mdm Dorothy Lim, teacher-in-charge of Character & Citizenship Education in Bowen Secondary School, invited Earth Society to conduct 2 Assembly talks to their Sec 2 and Sec 3 students on 16 & 17 Oct.

On 16 Oct, Earth Society members arrived at Bowen Secondary on 9.45am. Mr Low conducted the Assembly talk on Global Warming from 10 to 11am for the Sec 3 students.

After the talk, we set up a booth at the school canteen from 11 till 12 pm to gather feedback for the talk and pass some additional info (Climate change booklets / Global Warming Website leaflets) to interested teachers and students.

We conduct another Assembly talk & Quiz for the Sec 2 students on 17 Oct.

The talk and booths were well-received by the students and teachers.

Students’ Feedback:
I learnt a lot about how the Earth is changing. I learnt about how everyone can help. It was a very good talk. I have to make the Earth a better place when I grow up.
- Harinithish, BS student

I find this talk about Global Warming very useful. It let us know more about the causes of Global Warming and harmful effects of it, by showing interesting animation. It tells us how to play a part to save the world. After all, everyone has a part to play to keep the world green and healthy for us to enjoy.
– Low Eeron, BS student

I like the talk. It teaches us the consequences of global warming if we continue to produce more heat into the atmosphere through factories, industries and more. I will switch off any electrical appliances when not in use.             – Ang Jun Da, BS student

I like the talk as it gives me more knowledge and information about the world. I learn how to reduce global warming by reducing deforestation and reducing intake of beef and mutton.      -  Shadiqin Herman, BS student
